Prince Rupert

Saturday June 2nd 2012

Arrived at Kumealon Inlet late last night after a long day, it was a beautiful bay but a pretty tight entrance around small islets and barely covered rocks. Once we got in there and anchored in about 60 feet it was calm and sheltered and we were all alone in the wilderness. Totally dark and totally silent, the only sound overnight was the continuously pouring rain .

Rain showers around Oona River, BC

Since we had a short run today we had a lazy breakfast, organised the lines and fenders to make it easy to tie up on either side of the boat and left at Noon. We managed to get a cell phone signal around Oona River and were able to get a moorage reservation at the Prince Rupert Yacht and Rowing club dock.

Arrived at 3:30 and had dinner in the pub overlooking the marina. Will stay till at least Tuesday to try to get the engine alarm problem fixed .
We have supposed to have 30 amp shorepower at the dock here, included in the moorage fee which is unusual as you normally pay extra for it.
In any case, whenever we plug into it the shoreside fuse blows, so maybe that's why they don't charge extra for it ?
Guess we will just run the generator like we do at anchor.
