It was a beautiful morning so we just decided to head North at least as far as Tribune Bay on Hornby Island. Once we were out on the water however, it was so nice, no wind and flat calm water, that we just kept on going all the way to Campbell River.
We went a total of 80 miles in 8 hours and enjoyed every minute.
We didn't arrive till around 5pm so decided to anchor in one of our favourite anchorages at least for tonight and maybe for a day or so if the marina here is too busy.
Gowland Harbour is on Quadra Island just across Discovery Passage from the town of Campbell River. It is a beautiful , calm bay and, although surrounded by summer and permanent homes and cottages, it is very calm and peaceful. The only sounds tonight are fish and seals jumping and seagulls and Bald Eagles screeching in the distance.
Vivian prepared a meal and put the ingredients in the slow cooker just after we left and it was ready to eat soon after we arrived.
No muss no fuss dinner!!
Relaxing on the deck now with a nice glass of wine.
Best day this summer!!
