Last day at Granville Island

False creek looking over Burrard street bridge out  to English bay
Nice breeze and 25C by 2 PM, another really nice day here in False Creek.

The late local news last night had the rest of the story about the missing 8 year old that the police were searching for yesterday. Apparently he was at Granville Island play park with a day camp group from some child care centre. When it was time to leave the folks in charge evidently did not count the kids in their care  and left without him. They did not notice he was missing till later by which time the abandoned , shirtless,  8 year old walked home to his parents house by himself with half of Vancouver's finest still searching the city for him.

An interesting  story of BC bureacracy in the local paper today. Apparently an entrepenuerial local obtained a permit to set up a seasonal fresh fruit stand somewhere in the city but one of the conditions was that she couldn't sell more fruit than the local corner store sold. Since the amount, condition  and quality of the stand produce was more enticing to the local residents than the corner store variety, the worst happened and she was successful and sold too much locally grown, fresh BC produce. The predictable result being that the bureaucrats shut her down and cancelled her permit.

Welcome to the twilight zone !!

Went up to the market again for a supply of fresh veggies and fruit, it is a wonderfull fresh market but, boy, is it expensive!! Everything is about double the price we pay in Arizona.

Washed the boat as we leave here tomorrow morning.

You  probably know this but if you double click on the photos they will enlarge to full screen.
